About Me

Specialty Areas

My specialty areas include treating anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder to promote healing and thriving despite societal barriers.

Background and Approach

As a queer-identified Iranian American therapist, I have extensive experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, immigrant, international, and communities of color using a strength-based approach. I use an intersectional analysis to understand how systems of oppression impact our mental health. My approach is client-centered and informed by evidence based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), multicultural and feminist psychology, neuroscience, mindfulness-based practices, Buddhist psychology and family systems theories. I take an active approach to help my clients to not only alleviate symptoms but to obtain skills to develop a wellness practice to benefit you beyond our sessions.

Message to Clients

It takes a lot of courage to work on healing ourselves. I believe healing is possible even if the only thing we can change is our perspective on what is happening. New possibilities emerge and we feel more free to take steps towards fulfilling our dreams. I'm happy to connect with you to see if I can be of assistance on your path and wish you the best on your healing journey.
